Over the past several months, we have sought God's wisdom and leading as we searched for the next Senior Pastor of Vroom Street Church. We have prayed together, reviewed many pastoral profiles, conducted interviews, listened carefully to sermons, checked references, and spent many hours discussing and discerning God's direction.
We recognize that selecting a pastor is one of the most important decisions a church makes. For that reason, our recommendation is not based on a single interview or sermon. Over the course of this search, we spent many hours in prayer, listened to multiple sermons, conducted several interviews, checked references, and sought the Lord's wisdom together. We believe this process has been careful, thorough, and Spirit-led, and it has resulted in unanimous recommendations from both the Pastoral Search Committee and the Church Board.
After this thorough process, we are grateful to unanimously recommend Micah Spansel as the candidate for Senior Pastor of Vroom Street Church.
This recommendation comes with the unanimous support of both the Pastoral Search Committee and the Church Board.
Our full 8-page report detailing why and how we came to this decision is below. Also below you will find links to a collection of Micah’s sermons plus a save the date for our candidating weekend, when we will have a number of opportunities for you to meet Micah and his family.
As we enter this next season of ministry, we do so with deep gratitude for the faithful leadership and loving presence of Pastor Bill and Katie Sweeting. They have blessed Vroom Street Church in countless ways through their years of service, shepherding, teaching, encouragement, and commitment to our church family. Their love for Christ and for the people of Vroom Street has left a lasting impact on our congregation and our community. They have truly set a strong foundation, and the next pastor will have big shoes to fill. While we will deeply miss Pastor Bill and Katie, we are grateful for the ways God has worked through them and we look forward with hope and faith to the next chapter He is leading us into.
